The First Year Experience (FYE) program at the College of Saint Benedict places special emphasis on each student’s first year and their transition from high school to college. Programs occur once a month and focus on what we know about first year students: that the foundation built during a student’s first year of college is key to her success. We also work to help first year students develop an understanding and appreciation of the College of Saint Benedict as a Catholic, residential, liberal arts college routed in a strong Benedictine tradition. The College of Saint Benedict houses students by cohort, so first year students live and learn in community with one another.
While the calendar of programs changes due to student needs and innovation, we consistently provide the following programs for our first year women:
Orientation Days
Residence Hall Welcome Events

Fall Into Your Future Resource Fair
First Year Area Bonfire
Fall Semester Study Break & Finals Preparation Program
Deciding Upon or Changing Your Major
Sophomore Area Open House (Room Selection Program)
