Important information for those living in campus apartments, houses, and residence halls for the 2008-2009 Academic Year:
Please refer to the information provided below when making your Move-In plans. It is our hope to answer most questions regarding Move-In on this page. If there is a question which is not answered here, please feel free to contact the Residential Life Office—we always like to hear from you!
Move In takes place Sunday, August 24, 2008. Please move in as directed below based on your housing assignment (assignments will be sent out in Mid-July to all incoming first year and transfer students).
There will be orientation activities for students and parents throughout the day. See the orientation website for further details.
All returning students living in Lottie, Margretta, Brian, the campus apartments and the
campus houses are strongly encouraged to return to campus on Monday, August 25th or Tuesday, August 26th. If you choose to return on Sunday, August 24th, you may not move in or pick up your keys until after 2:00pm. See below for details regarding where to pick up keys.
Returning students are not permitted to move in prior to 2:00pm due to the approximately 525 new first year students who will be moving in between 8:00am and 1:00pm on Sunday, August 24th. Parking will be extremely limited and traffic into campus on that Sunday will be significant. We ask that you respect the 2:00pm timeline for returning students to provide for the best possible (and least stressful) move in experience for both new and returning students and their families.
Please come to Mary Commons to pick up your key.
Brian Hall: Front Entrance of Brian Hall
Margretta Hall: Front Entrance of Margretta Hall
Lottie : Front Entrance of Lottie Hall

The Residential Life Staff will greet you and assist you with the check-in process! Please remember Returning students are not permitted to move in prior to 2:00pm on Sunday, August 24th due to the approximately 525 new first year students who will be moving in between 8:00am and 1:00pm.
**Should you arrive after your check in area has closed for the day please go to the Mary Commons Info Desk for assistance.
A complete check-in is required of every student living on campus. You must do all of the following to complete your check-in process. Failure to do so may result in financial penalties.
Pick up your room/apartment key upon arrival.
Complete the Room Condition Report form (RCR) for your residence.
Complete the health and emergency contract card.
Read and sign the Bennie Book acknowledgment card.
The RCR, medical information card, and Bennie Book acknowledgment card must be completed and turned in to your resident assistant (RA), community assistant (CA), or residence director (RD) in order to receive your mail box key.
Please note: Failure to complete any of the above by 4:30 pm on Friday, August, 29th will constitute an improper check-in and result in a $25 fine.
Returning Students should plan to move in on Monday and Tuesday, August 25th and 26th, 2008. If you need to move in on the weekend you may move in AFTER 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24th.
If there is an extenuating circumstance and you need to arrive prior to these dates please send a written request to:
Email: housinginfo@csbsju.edu
Subject: Early Arrival Request
This request must be received in the Residential Life office
NO LATER than August 4th, 2008!
You will receive an email response from us letting you know the status of your request and appropriate check-in details.
Note that coaches and supervisors have already made arrangements for students needing to arrive early for intercollegiate athletics or on-campus employment. The same is true for students arriving early due to clubs and various welcoming activities. Students approved for early arrivals should have received a separate email with instructions for key pick up from this office.
Early return requests will be considered on a case by case basis and are generally approved due to distance to campus (coming from 4 or more hours away) or other extenuating circumstances. You are STRONGLY discouraged from arriving to campus prior to Monday, August 25th.
If you complete your order by this time, it will be delivered to your room prior to your arrival. If it is ordered after this date, it can be picked up at Mary Commons or the Margretta/Lottie loading dock on move-in day
