Class Descriptions

CARDIO CLASSES

Kickboxing: Kick and Jab your way into a great cardio workout. A favorite class of all types of exercisers, this class incorporates punching, toning, and stretching in a 60 minute, pumped up class. Put up your dukes, and get ready to punch and kick your way to a healthier body!  

 Hip-Hop Cardio: A class for those of you who love to dance…no prior experience necessary but coordination definitely required!  Taught by instructors with a high school background in various types of dance.  Typical class involves ballet-type warm-up with lots of stretching, then you learn a short hip-hop dance sequence, finished with a cool-down and more stretching/toning.

Cardio Blast: Anything goes…very much an instructor’s choice cardio-based class…always involving lots of sweating and some toning to blast your body into shape!  The choice of cardio will vary from week to week around kickboxing, hi/lo, step and classic JAZZERCISE moves…depending on the class desires and instructors plan.  Light weights, bands and/or balls may be used to add to the intensity of workout.

Body Jam: Designed for those of you who LOVE to sweat and push yourself!  This is a SUPER-intense, calorie-blasting workout which may use some circuit training combined with cardiovascular kickboxing moves and intervals of strength training. Will involve more drill-type exercises and sprints. Class will utilize the studio and/or fieldhouse.

TONING CLASSES

Guts n’ Butts: The infamous St. Ben’s toning class which targets not only your guts and butts but your biceps, triceps, shoulders, thighs and back as well. Perfect for those of you looking to tone-up without ever lifting a weight.

Total Body: Featuring a fantastic workout aimed to tone every aspect of your body taught to the most recent popular hip-hop music. This aerobic class is 60 minutes long, targeting EVERYTHING…your biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, quads, hams, butt, oblique’s, upper and lower abs.  You are sure to get your total body toned at this class.

Core Body: If you’re bored with your same-old toning exercises come to this class for a whole new look at strength-training.  An excellent toning class which uses the stability balls to challenge your deep abdominal and back muscles. Many of the exercises you learn in this class can be used at home in your dorm room or apartment with a ball of your own!  This class will focus on toning all major body areas: upper, lower and your core.
