Spirituality and Social Justice (SSJ)

Mission Statement

Spirituality and Social Justice (SSJ) works to address critical issues of injustice, war and peace, poverty, homelessness, and discrimination in the world. In addition to acting as a liaison between the social justice groups on campus and campus ministry, CSB SSJ coordinates educational programming and development of spirituality through prayer, reflection, and retreats.

Retreats:

  • Class and Subiaco Retreats
  • Advent and Lenten Retreats
  • The Mother/Daughter Retreat for senior women and their moms

Prayer opportunities and Justice Line:

  • Taize
  • Justice Line- a weekly Social Justice Awareness e-mail

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Amnesty International Film Festival
  • Hunger and Homelessness Week
  • Urban Plunges: These short intense weekend community service opportunities may focus on issues such as homelessness, poverty and AIDS and others.
