2006 Ministry of Hospitality Schedule
Thank you for your commitment to the ministry. Greeters should be at the chapel before mass at 5:30. If you are unable to be a greeter on the day you are scheduled, please find a replacement and let our staff know as soon as possible.
Job Description:
Before the Eucharist
-
Sign in on the ministry chart by 5:30pm.
-
two greeters welcome people and hand out worship aids at the Great Doors.
-
Instruct the people to go to the East nave.
-
One greeter stands in the East side aisle and directs people to sit in the East nave.
-
One greeter stands by the Baptismal Fountain and directs people to sit first in the East nave.
-
After the procession has entered the chapel for Eucharist, close the Great Doors.
-
Place the stand, with extra worship aids, in front of, but away from, the Great Doors so late comers can help themselves.

sit in the last pews in the West nave to help late comers find places. Help late comers find a space to sit or lead them to sit behind the musicians/cantors when there is no space.
During the Eucharist - Collection of Money
-
wait until the reader finishes his/her announcement about the collection and after start moving.
-
one greeter gives a basket to the person in both front rows in East nave.
-
one greeter gives a basket to a person in the first row in the North transcept
-
one greeter gives a basket to person in both front rows in West nave.
-
greeter from the West nave takes collection basket to greeter in North transcept.
-
greeter adds that basked to the collection from the North; North greeter gives both baskets to the person carrying the large collection basket from the East during offering of gifts.

Collection basked is placed on the floor in front of the altar.
After Eucharist
-
two greeters stand in front of the Great doors as the recessional begins.
-
open the Great doors as the procession enters the west aisle; return stand to sacristy
-
collect the worship aids
-
check for worship aids left in pews; generally clean any liter
-
take reserved signs out of pews and put in the sacristy.

bring collection offering baskets to the sacristy.

Student Campus ministry worker counts and puts collection money into envelopes (Envelopes are in Campus Ministry cupboard)

give money to the monastic sacristan for safekeeping
Note: This is a very important ministry because it sets the environment for the liturgy. The ministers of hospitality act like the hostesses of this great banquet.
