Faith Communities (FAC)

The Faith Communities Ministry of CSB believes that people of all faiths and backgrounds are created in love, to give and receive love. By joining peoples of all faiths in community, we seek to bring greater understanding and peace to our campuses and the world. Through respectful dialogue, faith sharing, prayer and fellowhip, we explore the strengths of our common values and the richness of our differences so that we may come to better understand our call to live the mystery of life.

Fully Aware Catholic

Fully Aware Catholic is a program that responds to students who are seeking a very foundational appreciation of Catholic Church teaching on fundamentals in faith and morals through theological reflection and respectful dialogue.  Past and future topics include:

  • Dating/Courting Purposefully
  • Women in the Church
  • The Catholic Church's Position on Abortion
  • The Catholic Church in Africa
  • Taking Your Conscience to the Voting Booth
  • Social Justice
  • Catholic Church Teachings on Homosexuality

Interfaith Gatherings

Interfaith Gatherings are ecumenical reflections from various Christian perspectives, in which we dialogue about our common understandings and divergent interpretations. Past topics include:

  • "Salvation: Who is saved? How? When are we considered saved?"
  • "Sharing Our Faith Stories" - Members of various faith communities discuss their experience with God, their faith journey, as well as joys and struggles of faith.

Multifaith E-Newsletter

Out of respect for religious diversity, this newsletter relays significant events, celebrations, feasts and facts about mainstream world religions. If you would like to receive this mailing, please email fac@csbsju.edu.

Not Catholic?

CSB Campus Ministry welcomes those of other faith traditions to worship with the Catholic faith community. We also wish to serve those of other faith traditions who prefer to worship with their religious affiliation. We help:

  • connect students with a particular denomination and arrange transportation
  • coordinate a relationship with Resurrection Lutheran Church for prayer and Bible Study
  • offer spirituality programs
  • encourage ecumenical dialogue
  • provide a reflection room for personal and group use

Places and times of worship outside of campus.
