Spring 2004
“We established the Roger and Irma Scherer Endowed Scholarship to ensure that students at Saint John’s University or the College of Saint Benedict with siblings who are also attending college will not be dissuaded from applying here due to the added financial burdens on their families,” the Scherer’s explain. “We were both graduated from these fine institutions, where we began our forty-seven year relationship.” Roger and Irma think of the schools as one and commend the working partnership that exists between CSB and SJU. “We are proud that our scholarship will benefit both equally.”
Over the years, Roger and Irma have generously supported a number of projects at CSB and SJU, including the Annual Fund, the Ardolf Science Center, the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library and the Saint John’s science facilities. They have also both participated in numerous events at both schools. In addition to their generous support here, they also have given to a number of Twin Cities schools and programs.
