Tonya McNamara Dolezal '93

1. What sort of work do you do? I oversee the design components and do all of the buying for a bedroom furniture company.
2. What do you like about your job?  The creativity of the process and the variety of tasks I perform.
3. How did you choose your career path?  This is somewhat of a second career.  I worked in higher education after graduation, took some time off to stay at home with our children when they were small, and then began working in this field when I re-entered the workforce
4. How did Saint Ben's prepare you for life after graduation and/or prepare you for your career?  Saint Ben's provided me with a broad variety of educational opportunities and experiences that have allowed me to successfully transition through different careers.
5. What do you miss about Saint Ben's?   Lots!  I miss the friends I do not see as frequently, the beauty of the campus, and the freedom of those days!
6. Favorite Professors?  Janet Koenigsamen, S. Kritin Malloy, Bob Spaeth and Fr. Jerome Tupa.
7. If you could reconnect with someone from the Monastery - who would it be and why?  S. Kristin Malloy was my closest friend in the monastery and she passed away recently.  She was a lovely, smart, funny women and I miss her.
8. Where did you study abroad?  Ireland and Israel.
9. Where did you live as a first year student?  Corona K.
10. Have you read any good books lately?  Please list:  I have been in a book club for several years now and we recently finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy and We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver.  Both somewhat disturbing but interesting.
11. What is your favorite movie?  That is a hard one... I have always thought the movie Stripes has some of the best one-liners and I love anything with Hugh Grant.
12.   Any Hobbies?  Travel, reading and (secretly) TV!
