A Stearns County judge is among three judges who have been honored for serving on the panel that heard the Norm Coleman-Al Franken Senate trial.
The Minnesota District Judges Foundation has presented its Community Service Award to Judge Elizabeth Hayden and the two judges who served with her on the panel, Judge Kurt Marben of Pennington County and Judge Denise Reilly of Hennepin County.
The three were honored for displaying “the highest levels of professionalism, public service, and judicial independence and integrity.”
Another Stearns County judge was honored for helping to produce a handbook about jury instructions.
Judge Frederick Grunke was one of 19 judges recognized with the foundation’s 2009 Judicial Award for creating the “Minnesota Jury Instruction Companion Handbook.”
The foundation presented the awards last week in St. Cloud.
