Minnesota Center Chorale has named Jody Martinson its new music director.
Martinson is a conductor, singer and voice teacher who sang with Minnesota Center Chorale under the direction of Phil Welter.
She directed several Catholic Diocesan festival liturgies and will co-direct a large choral festival in October at the Cathedral of St. Mary. She has studied with vocal teachers Carolyn Finley, Hugh Givens, Marcie Hagen and Eileen Farrell. She received a bachelor of arts degree in music education and vocal performance from the College of St. Benedict and a master’s in choral conducting from St. Cloud State University.
Minnesota Center Chorale begins its 37th season in October. MCC singers come from throughout Central Minnesota and perform classical and contemporary music. For details go to www.minnesotacenterchorale.org or call 257-0603. Times staff report
