Job Positions With CSB Campus Ministry
Position title: Liturgical Minister
Length of Position: Academic year
Responsibilities:
-
Study, reflect, and meditate on the Scripture Readings/Gospel for Sundays and Feast days.
-
Plan and execute the music for the weekly student liturgies, graduation and seasonal reconciliation services.
-
Produce the worship leaflets for the weekly student liturgies.
-
Organize the weekly music rehearsal with the student liturgy volunteers.
-
Prepare music binders for all musicians and maintain an organized file of the musical repertoire.
-
Set up and take down the music system, and the space arrangements for the Sunday liturgies.
-
Responsible for inviting, training and scheduling volunteers for liturgical ministries:
-
Hospitality Ministers, Readers, Gift Bearers, Eucharistic Ministers, Cantors/ Song Leaders, Musicians and Liturgical Dancers. When appropriate formation of ministers will be done in collaboration with the professional staff and with the monastic community if that is needed.

Pay attention to copyrights and get permissions as needed.
Qualifications:
-
The student must have a general knowledge of Catholic Theology and Liturgical practice
-
Musical/ Vocal proficiency (prior training in piano, organ, guitar or voice)
-
Experience with music / desktop publishing computer software (i.e. Finale and Microsoft Publisher)
-
Experience as a liturgical musician and/or as a member of the liturgical team at a local/ home parish
-
Past experience accompanying choirs/ensembles
-
Willingness to work in CSB Campus Ministry for a minimum of two years
-
Desire to learn and develop practical skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the entire Campus Ministry team
Work Schedule: Each student is responsible to organize approximately 2/3 of his/her work contract with consistent office hours during the business day (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.); the remaining part of the contract is committed to implementing Liturgy programming outside of the office setting.
Position title: Faith Communities Minister
Length of Position: Academic year
Description: In addition to the general responsibilities for all Student Campus Ministers, the Faith Communities Minister along with the Faith Communities Advisor provide the overall coordination of the Faith Communities program which promotes the joining of peoples of all faiths in community.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Ecumenical:
Build and strengthen an inclusive Christian community of students.
Show creativity and enthusiasm toward developing relationships with local churches in St. Joseph, St. Cloud and beyond.
Maintain an updated database of the different worship services and social services of different Protestant churches.
Inter-faith:
Develop an inter-faith community in coordination with the offices of International and Multicultural Students and with faculty interested in dialogue with different religions.
Plan, organize and execute ecumenical gatherings, conversations with students of different faiths, bible studies, prayer services and panels about different faiths.
Ecumenical and Interfaith:
Organize visits to different Protestant churches and sacred places of other faiths.
Serve as an informed resource person for Non-Catholic and Catholic students interested in ecumenical and/or interfaith issues.
Work cooperatively with the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry.
Qualifications:

Basic knowledge about Catholic Faith, Christian faith and other religions.

Ability to work closely with students, parents and faculty of different faiths.

Computer skills, desktop publishing, computer software, Excel is recommended.

Position title: Alternative Break Experiences Minister
Length of Position: Academic year
Description: In addition to the general responsibilities for all Student Campus Ministers, the Alternative Break Experiences Minister, along with the ABE Advisor, handles the overall coordination of the ABE program that promotes service in the spirit of justice and community.
Duties/ Responsibilities:

Contact, select, and confirm ABE service sites.
-
Coordinate co-leader recruitment amongst students, staff and faculty.
-
Interview and select co-leader applicants along with the ABE advisor.
-
Design, coordinate, and implement the ongoing training for co-leaders.
-
Create materials for, advertise, and organize participant recruitment.
-
Represent the ABE program in a positive way to students, parents, community members, etc…
-
Coordinate ABE program fundraising efforts.
-
Project the financial budget for assigned trips.
-
Organize ABE follow-up/reorientation activities.
-
Serve as an informed resource person for assigned trips.
-
Attend to ongoing needs & issues of assigned trips as they arise, before, during, or after trips.

Receive paperwork for assigned trips, and follow-up as needed.

Work cooperatively with the ABE advisor.

Position title: Spirituality and Social Justice (SSJ) Minister
Length of Position: Academic year
Description: In addition to the general responsibilities for all Student Campus Ministers, the Spirituality and Social Justice Ministers, along with the Director of Campus Ministry, are responsible for the overall coordination of the SSJ programming that seeks to promote the inherent connection between spirituality and social justice.
Duties/ Responsibilities:

Develop and coordinate opportunities for members of the campus communities which will raise awareness, educate and engage reflection on the crucial link between the gospel and social justice issues and thus empower people to action
-
Network with individuals and groups on our campus (e.g. Residential Life, Student Leadership, women’s Groups) to engage in issues and concerns which impact life both locally and globally.
-
Develop spiritual, service and justice events and programs based on student interest and current local and global social concerns.
-
Coordinate, plan and implement local service opportunities, (i.e. urban plunges) for students in collaboration with the professional staff.
-
Educate oneself in social justice and spirituality issues, and other current areas of concern relevant to our campuses.
-
Coordinate, plan and execute the retreats, prayers, discussion groups sponsored by CSB Campus Ministry.
-
Publicize and coordinate registration for the events/retreats/services provided to our campus community members.
-
Foster, encourage an attitude of awareness of God in our daily lives.

Dialogue regarding involvement/engagement of students in Campus Ministry programs.

Ability to work as a leader amongst peers, in regards to retreats, urban plunges, other service experiences, and justice education.
