2011 Trip
Ghost Ranch
Situated in north central New Mexico, Ghost Ranch is a place where issues of environmental ethics and eco-justice are lived out in a beautiful natural setting. By experiencing the local community, cultural history and mission of the church, the examination of our own lifestyles is a main component of this trip. The week will also include a community work project - cleaning irrigation pathways or tutoring, as well as helping with various projects on the ranch.

One education center in two locations called to serve God by empowering all who come to grow spiritually, learn inter-generationally and experience new transforming ways to serve God in the Church and world.
A community warmed by sun and sacred history, a resolana where friendships are made and important stories told; a sanctuary of cultural, ethnic, religious and societal diversity; an open place for body, mind, and spirit.
A community motivated by faith to share joyfully the gift of hospitality, kindness and healing; to bring together people on various quests and from different perspectives, offering programming excellence in a safe setting.
A community rooted in the Reformed heritage covenanted to reconciliation, training leadership for the future of the Church, seeking peace and justice.
A community appreciative and respectful of its New Mexico neighbors, offering with love what it has to give and accepting with grace what it needs to receive.
A community for the Spirit for rest, re-creation, and renewal offering beauty, encounter and growth, helping people to be responsive to God in new ways.
A keeper and mender of creation and communities; An advocate for the care of the earth and its resources; A place to wonder, to challenge, to create, to explore; A sacred space for seekers and shepherds; A touchstone for light and leaven in an uncertain world.
2011 Trip
They strive:
- To provide resources for spiritual life, awakening to the call of God's Spirit leading people to action, particularly in the areas of peace and justice.
- To inspire leadership for the future of the Church and world, with emphasis on youth and young adults.
- To expand the diversity among us, encouraging and celebrating a broad cultural, ethnic, economic, and ability mix.
- To reinforce our connectedness in northern New Mexico, its communities, its history, its needs and its environment, with special concern for land and water.
- To provide hospitality by expanding welcoming and service skills, and improving accommodations.
What to Expect:
- Travel: The group will travel to and from New Mexico by van.
- Lodging: Students will stay at the Ghost Ranch Staff House in double occupancy rooms. Linens are provided!
- Food:All meals are provided by Ghost Ranch. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks if they choose.
- Work: Preparing the Presbyterian Conference Center for a new season is just one of the many tasks to be completed!
- Extra Fun!: Hiking and other outdoor activities. Enjoying the beautiful scenery of New Mexico!
- Focus: Environmental issues, eco-justice, reflection, retreat.
