Dialogues in Global Media

The second program for our Dialogues on the Global Media brought Fred de Sam Lazaro of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer to Saint John's University on November 14. Based at TPT/Twin Cities Public Television, Fred de Sam Lazaro covers both domestic an international topics for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. On international assignments, he has reported from Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe. He has placed special emphasis on the global AIDS epidemic that he has portrayed in India, South Africa, Uganda, and Southeast Asia. Recently, he has also served as a contributing correspondent for PBS' Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly filing stories on ethnic conflict and reconciliation in Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia.
