This program focused on the coverage of the global AIDS Pandemic. Speaking at the College of Saint Benedict on October 26, NPR's Brenda Wilson addressed the problems of covering HIV/AIDS in South Africa. Based in Washington, D.C., Wilson reports on national health and international public health issues, the White House, and current political and social concerns. Since 1999, she has held a Kaiser Foundation Fellowship to prepare in-depth reporting on AIDS and HIV prevention in South Africa. She has shared a Dupont-Columbia Award for "Breaking the Silence," a NPR series on AIDS in the Black community, which also won an award from the National Association of Black Journalists. She also shared an award from the American Bar association for a series on affirmative action.
