This was the second event in a more recent tradition honoring Sr. Colman O'Connell, OSB. This programming was designed to bring a writer to our community who complements an Irish theme in culture and the arts. This year, we featured Áine Greaney to enhance that Irish theme as well as our colleague in the Music Department, David Arnott, who provided traditional Irish music.
Áine Greaney's most current novel, Dance Lessons, (2011) was chosen as the focus of the program. Set in rural Ireland and greater Boston, Booklist described Dance Lessons as "a beautiful examination of three women's lives, . . . [It] deftly explores both relationships and solitude with Ireland's gorgeous countryside as a backdrop."
