Collaborative Projects

As University Chair in Critical Thinking, Nick Hayes sponsors an annual series of presentations and conversations with additional support from other programs and departments on campus. These collaborations have taken place between the following:

  • The Saint John's Pottery
  • English Department
  • Economics Department
  • Eugene J. McCarthy Center
  • Political Science Department
  • Reuter Professorship
  • Jay Phillips Center for Interfaith Learning
  • and more...

This series of public talks and lectures at Saint John's University invites authors, scholars, and cultural figures to speak about ethical issues present in both their creative work and in current events. At times, as appropriate, the Saint John's Pottery Studio, as an informal reception space, co-hosts many events around the tea table. Some recent visiting scholars include Polish poet Adam Zagajewski, documentary filmmaker Mick Caouette, and Irish poet Theo Dorgan.
