Web Library A library is defined either as a place in which literary and artistic materials are kept for reference or reading or as a collection of such materials, especially when systematically arranged for reference. The links below will take you to our version of a library, which is under perpetual construction.

Two "molecule libraries" listed below will allow you to manipulate molecular models using your mouse buttons. The molecules can be rendered in many way, rotated, and colored coded through use of the Chime plug-in for your web browser. Computers in all four public access areas (Quad, Engel, Main, and HAB) have the plug-in already installed. You can install the plug-in on your own computer as well by going to the free Chime plug-in site at MDL.

  • Molecule Library - an interactive collection of molecules you might encounter in General Chemistry (CH 123, 234), the Chemistry of Organic and Biochemical Molecules (CH111, 112) and Organic Chemistry (CH 235, 236).
  • Biomolecule Library - an interactive collection of molecules you will encounter in Biochemistry (CH 331). Also included are student modeling projects of the favorite biological macromolecules.
  • Video Library - a collections of digital video recordings of interesting chemical reactions and lab procedures
  • The Chemistry Resources Home Page - from the CSB/SJU libraries
