As you endeavor to face the challenges on our course, our facilitators are observing your strategies and styles, both as whole groups and as individuals.
Here are some of the topics which might be covered on an afternoon on the course:
Leadership: How many leaders and followers do you have in your group? Do people function comfortably within and like these roles? Is there flexibility to try other roles?
Group Support: Is your group supportive of all members and how is this support provided?
Peer Pressure: Are there negative and positive pressures working within your group which affect group performance?
Hostility: How does the group handle frustration and failure? Do all members share in success as well as failure?
Efficiency: Does your group not only solve problems, but do it well? Are there creative solutions within your group?
Sexism or Stereotyping: Are these roles affecting the production of your group?
Competition: Is there competition within your group and does this help or hinder problem solving? Can someone be "too" competitive?
Fear: Is there fear in your group? (Fear of falling, heights, disapproval, failure)
