Professor Johnson earned her B.A. from Cornell College, M.A. at the University of South Dakota and PhD, Southern Illinois University in theater. Joined CSB/SJU in 1985; appointed Professor 1995; Department Chair, 1994-1998. Courses include Theater Management, Public Speaking and Senior Seminar (ethics). She has a number of honors including a faculty development grant to attend the Holocaust Institute in Jerusalem; faculty study grant in China; Kellogg Leadership Award; and National Endowment for the Humanities Research Fellow. She has served on numerous faculty committees, presented papers at regional and national meetings, served as a consultant to many nonprofit theater companies; published articles, plays and poems; directed more than 50 college and university plays, 18 community/summer theater experiences and another 22 plays for young audiences. She is a member of the Association for Asian Performance and Women and Theatre Focus Group.
