E-Scholar: Eric Rego

Eric is a member of the first cohort of E-Scholars.  He graduated from St. John’s University in 2006 with a major in Biology with added coursework in Management and Entrepreneurship.  Originally, he is from Hastings, MN where he discovered his love for the outdoors.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and motor sports.  Eric played for the Lacrosse club during his first year at SJU and now participates in Intramural softball. 

During the 2004-05 school year, Eric along with Derrick Dehmer, and Katie Kalkman launched an entrepreneurial venture known as Collegeville Carpet, LLC.  “The experiences I gained while starting and running Collegeville Carpet were unlike any that are possible to get in the classroom.  These experiences have made me better equipped for my next business venture.”

As an E-Scholar Eric participated in an internship with Keeprs Law Enforcement products, located in Sauk Rapids, MN and owned by alum Jason Klinefelter ’95.  While there, he will be working on an internal analysis and designing an internship program for Keeprs. 

Eric is now working for a local office equipment business in the St. Cloud area. He is also continuing to develop his plans, started as an E-Scholar, to launch a business venture in the mosquito control industry sometime in the future.
