Cody is member of the first E-Scholars cohort and a recent graduate with honors from St. John's University majoring in Economics. Born and raised in Owatonna Minnesota, he says, “I was brought up to understand the importance of community.”
During 2005-06, Cody helped develop the business plan and secure the loan for the E-scholars Clemens Perk coffee shop which now operates in the library on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict. He also had an internship with the Director of Government Relations for CentraCare Health System, where he learned the ins and outs of public policy advocacy and its impact on business environment.
In the future Cody plans to enter a graduate program, seeking an M.A. in Ethics, Peace, and Global Affairs. He is interested in US trade and development policy, alternative economic analysis, and social justice issues.
