Charles participated in a dual internship and spent time in both Shanghai, China and Minneapolis, MN. While in China, Charles worked as the Marketing Project Manager for Midwest Rubber Co. in their Shanghai office. Midwest Rubber Company has been producing premium rubber products since 1976, and serve customers in North America, Asia, and Europe. They manufacture rubber, urethane, and plastic products for both industrial and commercial uses. The Manufacturers Alliance in Minnesota recently awarded Midwest Rubber the 2013 Manufacturer of the Year Award.
Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.
I mainly experienced the different internship environment in both China and America, I went to China for a month and came back US for two months for the internship. Otherwise, I lived in my friend's house with her family for the whole summer, so the experience of American family is my second impressive experience.
Why did you choose the program in which you participated?
There is multiple reasons push me to participate the program. One of the most important is because I want to experience as much as possible in my college career. I am an out-going person and I am happy to try everything, so the program I attended provides me a great platform to experience a different culture and lifestyle.
Describe your overall study abroad experience.
The study abroad experience for me is a life-changing experience. It doesn't only fulfill my working experience, but also [forces] me to think about the meaning of life, so does other deep thinking questions.
How has the trip affected you? How are you different for having completed the experience?
The trip help me to experience [a] totally different culture and [reminded] me to ask myself what kind of life I want. I think I [became] more mature after the experience.

Review every day's life and summarize what you learned and what you can change.
