Professor of Economics and Environmental Studies
Professor Diedrich has his BA from The University of Cincinnati, M.I.M. from the American Graduate School of International Management and his PH. D. in Economics from Colorado State University. He joined faculty in 1980, and teaches courses including Comparative Economic Systems, Economic Development, Environmental Economics, Freshman Symposium, Senior Seminar, and Introduction to Environmental Studies. He has also participated in interdisciplinary efforts such as Environmental Learning Communities. Ernie has helped gather a number of grants (including Lindbergh and Bremer Foundation Grants), co-founded the environmental Studies Program, and has served in a variety of leadership posts in many non-profits such as the Minnesota League of Conservation Voters, the Minnesota Project and most recently, the Avon Hills Initiative.
