Liberal Studies
Interdisciplinary Program Advisor: Jackie Hampton
Liberal Studies offers students an
individualized major that integrates a self-designed program of study
in the liberal arts with a capstone experiential learning requirement.
The major is designed for students who prefer a broad-based program of
study within the liberal arts rather than a major in a single
department or division. Working closely with a faculty advisor and
building on the core curriculum, the structured requirements of the
major ask students to develop a program that will assist them to grow
in self-knowledge, liberal arts skills and interdisciplinary
understanding. The faculty advisor and the liberal studies advisor
work closely with students as they develop their own personal program
of study.
