Liberal Studies

(Saint Benedict’s only)

Interdisciplinary Program Director: Julie Bresnahan

Liberal studies offers students an individualized major that integrates a self-designed program of study in the liberal arts with a capstone experiential learning requirement. The major is designed for students who prefer a broad-based program of study within the liberal arts in contrast to a major in a single department or division. Building on the core curriculum, the structured requirements of the major ask students to develop a program that will assist them to grow in self-knowledge, liberal arts skills and interdisciplinary understanding. The liberal studies director works closely with each student as she develops her own personal program. The major is open to Saint Benedict’s students only.
