Choosing the right attire for an interview is critical. Will the clothes you choose land you a job? Of course not, but the first impression an interviewer has of you will be based on your appearance. You want that impression to be a favorable one! Of course, as a college student, you likely won’t be able to spend hundreds of dollars on a new wardrobe for your interviews; however, you should choose an outfit that is professional, clean, well-fitting, and appropriate. It is not uncommon for an interview to include lunch or dinner. This may or may not be part of the formal interview process. Regardless, your interviewer and other dining companions will be using this time to assess you and your table manners will say a lot about the kind of candidate you are. If you aren’t sure which fork to use, or which water glass is yours, now would be the time to brush up on your table manners.
