To be a wise consumer of employment agencies and third party recruiters, you’ll want to educate yourself on the services provided, the company’s corporate client connections, the types of positions offered by the company, the fees charged to you (if any), and the contract you would be expected to sign (if there is one). Many of these companies provide their services free to candidates and derive their revenue from employer fees, but you’ll want to be sure to ask. Feel free to contact Career Services Staff to discuss questions you may have regarding these organizations and their role in your job search.
