5 Things Employers Want to Know About You
checklist 2 2

"'If you were an animal, what kind of an animal would you be?' a hiring manager asked during a job interview. Why would an employer ask a question like that? No matter what question they ask you, employers are trying to figure out one of five things:
- Can you do the job?
- Do you understand the job?
- Are you at the right price?
- Will you fit in with the team?
- Do you want the job?"

Alum: Jeff Cook-Lundgren, '07 ACCT Major
Controller - One Acre Fund

"I work with One Acre Fund to change the lives of 300,000 (and growing) smallholder farm families in East Africa through improved food security and access to modern farming technology. I knew that working in Public Accounting wasn't where I wanted to end up, but it was a really great place to learn from some very smart people. You should remember that your 'end goal' will always be a bit of a moving target. You may not know what you want until you get there."

Intern: Bao Yang, '16 NUTR Major
Health & Wellness Intern - Hmong American Partnership

"During this internship, I learned a lot of things about myself and my community. Being able to see all of the systematic obstacles that people have to go through every day showed me how much my community still needs help. It has also opened my eyes to other career opportunities and ways that I can help my community."
