The "Tom Creed Memorial Award for Effective Electronic Pedagogy"

Award Criteria:

  • Demonstrate effective use of Information Technology (IT) in pedagogy, using computer resources readily available at CSB/SJU.
  • Demonstrate transferability to other disciplines.
  • Nominee's work differs substantially from work for which he/she has received a prior Creed Award.
  • Open to all CSB/SJU faculty.

Timeline for 2005-2006 Academic Year:

  • Nominations open: December 1, 2005
  • Nominations due in Office of the Provost: February 1, 2006
  • CAC reviews nominations and selects recipient(s)
  • Awards announced at Faculty Awards Ceremony (May 2006)

Nomination process:

  • Academic Division Heads are invited to nominate two faculty members from their division.
  • Nominated faculty should provide the following nomination documents for CAC review to the Office of the Provost by the nomination deadline.
    • Two-page description of IT applications used and statement of pedagogical innovation.
    • Supporting documents (if applicable) including addresses for web-based materials.
    • Two letters from students in a participating course describing advantages & disadvantages of IT use in class.
    • One letter of support from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's IT use.

Note: Awards are treated as taxable income.
