How do I connect my TV to the CSB/SJU Cable System?

If you still have the operating instructions that came with your TV and/or VCR, refer to them for specific instructions on how to connect your equipment to the cable system.  If you no longer have the operating instructions for your TV/VCR follow these general instructions:

To connect your TV to the CSB/SJU cable system, simply use a good quality coaxial cable (TV cable) to go between the TV jack on the wall and the back of your TV.  Usually the connection on the back of the TV will match the plug on the end of the coaxial cable (TV cable).

If your TV is old and uses screw terminals for the antenna connection, you will need to get a small transformer.  These transformers may be purchased from SJU Media (Q443), or any store that sells TV accessories.

If you have a VCR and would like to connect it along with your TV to the CSB/SJU cable system simply connect a good quality coaxial cable between the TV jack on the wall and the "VHF" or "ANT" input on the back of your VCR.  Then connect a good quality coaxial jumper from the "VHF" or "ANT" Out on the back of the VCR to the "ANT" input connection on the back of your TV.

Make sure all of your connections to the wall jack, TV, and VCR are tight to prevent Cable TV Signal Leakage.

Always use good quality coaxial cable to connect your TV and VCR to the CSB/SJU cable system.  The cable should have at least two layers of shielding to prevent the TV signals from leaking out of the cable system.   These cables can be purchased at any store that sells TV accessories.

Never use speaker wire, lamp cord wire, or flat twin lead TV antenna wire when connecting your TV and VCR to the CSB/SJU cable system.  Doing so causes BIG TIME communication and interference problems.
