Have you ever said there's nothing good on TV? Well, here's your chance to do something about it!
Channel 8 on the CSB/SJU cable TV system is set aside for the purpose of providing local cable TV access to the CSB/SJU community. Programming on channel 8 can take the form of a video clip, video program, or programming containing graphics (slides) with an audio track or "voice over". If you have just a text message it should be shown on channel 6. Programming can be anything, use your imagination and be creative. Any CSB/SJU student, student club, CSB/SJU organization, faculty member, or staff member can present programming for display over channel 8. Video clips and slide shows will become part of a PowerPoint loop that will show repeatedly over channel 8, full length video programs will be scheduled on given dates and times. The programming must be original in content, or if copyrighted, public performance rights need to be secured. There is no charge to get programming shown on channel 8 unless it's a commercial for a commercial product or service. Programs submitted for playback on channel 8 can be presented on VHS tape, Mini-DV tape, DVD, or a PowerPoint file. For more information on getting your program shown on channel 8 contact Media Services by email: mediatech@csbsju.edu.
We are also looking for volunteers to help put together programming for use on channel 8 and to promote the use of channel 8. If you are interested please email us at mediatech@csbsju.edu. We need people to shoot the video, edit the video, do the voice over, write the copy, and promote the service.
Programming on channel 8 may not violate existing law governing libel, slander, indecency, obscenity, or create a hazard to public or private safety and welfare. Personal liability may be incurred for such violations.
