Independent Research:

Two of the avenues available for independent research include Summer Research Fellowships and independent research projects in specific courses.  In both cases, students are under the direct supervision of a faculty member and must submit a risk assessment form of their project using the Independent Research Risk Assessment Form.  The biology safety committee must review the proposal before the project is begun.
