108 Microbes and Human Affairs (4) An examinatino of the role microorganisms play in various aspects of human affairs. Consideration will be given to both the beneficial activities and the harmful effects of microbes. 109 Environmental Science (4) A survey of the scientific and sociological basis of human interactions with nature. Topics include global environmental problems analysis of local and regional issues, population biology and conservation of ecological systems. Lecture and laboratory [Staff]
110 Life Science (4): An investigation of the fundamental ideas and principles of biology that are particularly important to the liberal arts student. These concepts should serve as a background to assist the student in the interpretation and understanding of scientific events affecting modern society. 112 Human Biology (4) Human Biology has as its goal the organization of biological principles and information into a synthesis focused on the human organism. Emphasis is on genetics, embryology, endocrinology, physiology, anatomy and environmental factors that influence and affect humans. Lecture and laboratory. [Dr. Knox]
