Major: French and English
Hometown: I was born in South Korea but was adopted and I grew up in St. Paul, MN.
1. How did you decide to come to CSB/SJU?
My two top colleges were St. Ben's and St. Olaf but after visiting St. Ben's, something just clicked and resonated with me. It was a mixture of the environment, the people, the opportunities, and the classes offered. Even though I was more familiar with St. Olaf and had more high school friends going there, St. Ben's felt like the college for me.
2. How did you get involved in Asia Club?
I became involved in Asia Club my first year by signing up for Asia Club at the Involvement at the Mall in the HCC fieldhouse.
3. What are some of your goals for Asia Club?
For Asia Club, I would like to continue to expand and increase the number of members as well as enforcing our belief that Asia Club isn't just for Asians; we welcome people of all ethnicities and cultures. Also, I'd like for us to keep spreading news and information about Asia Club so that we can get more students to come to our events such as Asian Crafts Night but more importantly, to meetings. We always have a large number of students who sign up at the beginning of the year, but when it comes to meetings, not very many people show up. If we could figure out a way to change this or improve the attendance for meetings, this would improve our club as a whole I believe.
4. What are your general future plans?
My future plans are to study abroad in France next fall and to finish my four years at St. Ben's while staying involved in various clubs and organizations. Being a double major in French and English, I'd like to do some translating and interpreting.
