1. ENGLISH TUTOR AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT, BUNKYO GAKUIN UNIVERSITY, TOKYO, JAPAN
Program normally runs from mid-September through the end of March.
Job Description: Assisting BGU faculty in English language courses, tutoring BGU students, staffing the English Chat Lounge, and assisting BGU staff in a variety of academic enterprises. BGU has been a collaborative partner of CSB/SJU for 20 years and is the host institution for the CSB/SJU study abroad program in Japan. Possibility of RA position.
Orientation: Approximately one week orientation at BGU and by BGU staff.
Financial: Monthly net salary of $1,260. On-campus housing with cooking facilities provided.
Health insurance: Provided by employer.
Transportation: $700 airfare allowance. Ground transportation to and from campus is provided by employer. Several excursions provided by employer.
Program runs from July to June. Renewable.
Job Description: Assist English language teachers in primary and secondary school classes. Assist in the training of Japanese English teachers. Perform other cultural exchange-related activities.
Orientation: One week of orientation in Tokyo before departure to assignment.
Financial: Housing provided by JET; approximately a $30,000 annual salary.
Health Insurance: Provided by JET.
Travel: Round trip airfare paid by JET.

Job Description: Full-time teaching of English and American culture at an assigned college or university in China.
Orientation: One week orientation program in Hong Kong before going to assigned school.
Financial: Housing provided. Salary determined by school; generally $400 - $565 per month.
Health Insurance: Provided by Maryknoll through Insurance Services of America.
Transportation: Airfare to and from Hong Kong paid by employee with partial reimbursement from assigned school. Ground transportation to and from assigned school paid by Maryknoll.

Job Description: Primary responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, interviewing prospective students, attending staff meetings and organizing social events. Teaching is primarily English conversation, and student audience ranges from pre-school to adult learners. Teachers are encouraged and trusted to be creative and independent.
Orientation: Fourteen-day Training Session at OBC prior to teaching start date.
Financial: Housing provided. $30,000 average annual salary.
Health Insurance: Provided by employer, may be supplemented by employee insurance.
Transportation: Return airfare provided by employer. Ground transportation to and from site provided by employer.

Job Description: Teaching Assistant in English language and American culture classes at the Junior or Senior High School level. Involvement in extra-curricular activities appreciated, but optional. Shogaku High School is a long-time collaborative partner of both CSB/SJU and Saint John's Prep School.
Orientation: One week in Okinawa before classes begin.
Financial: Housing or housing stipend provided by employer. Approximately $20,000 annual salary. Additional compensation for extra-curricular involvement.
Health Insurance: Provided by employer.
Transportation: Airfare subsidy provided by employer. Ground transportation to and from campus provided by employer.
Program runs from September to June.
Job Description: Teaching English conversation and American culture classes to undergraduate or graduate students at Southwest University. Southwest University is the host institution for the CSB/SJU study abroad program.
Orientation: Two days orientation at host campus.
Financial: Housing provided by employer; monthly salary of 4000 Chinese RMB (about $630).
Health Insurance: Injury and hospitalization insurance provided by employer.
Travel: Round trip international airfare paid by employer. Ground transportation from Chongqing airport to campus provided by employer.
Programs available from July to December; February to August; and February to December.
Job Description: Teaching conversational English to Chinese students mainly in Beijing and occasionally, via the CSE membership, in the public schools in the Beijing area. International business graduates are also welcome to apply.
Orientation: One-week orientation beginning July 3.
Financial: The interns will live in a furnished one-bedroom apartment, a shared one-bedroom apartment inside the CSTEC campus, or live with a Chinese family. Interns also receive a monthly grocery stipend of 4500RMB which will cover most living costs in China.
Health Insurance: Interns must arrange their own medical insurance before arriving in Beijing.
Transportation: Free pick-up and drop-off from and to Beijing Capital Airport. Transportation from and to Beijing when the interns travel to other provinces to teach English in local schools. CSTEC will pay for half of interns' airfare.

8. EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER (ESC), KOREA POLY SCHOOL, SOUTH KOREA
ESC is recruiting for full-time one year contract positions at Korea Poly School campuses.
Job Description: Teach Early Childhood, Elementary, and Middle School students who have studied abroad or who have passed a rigorous English exam.
Orientation: ESC, based in St. Paul, will provide communication and consultation, teacher training, visa guidance, flight scheduling, and overall support to help teachers transition to South Korea.
Financial: Competitive monthly salary. Single housing (furnished) provided. Pension payments matched by the campus. Bonus upon completion of contract. Two weeks paid vacation annually.
Health Insurance: Costs shared by school and teacher.
Travel: Airfare to South Korea provided.

9. TEACHING IN INDIA AND NEPAL
Program runs for a minimum of three months but could be longer.
Job Description: At least two possibilities are being offered for students to teach and volunteer in India and Nepal. The Neerja Modi School is looking for teachers to work with students in a high quality prep school environment including a school for outcast girls from Rajasta. Their website is: www.nmsindia.com. The Prudent Foundation is also looking for volunteers in almost any field that interests students. They are located in Kathmandu, Nepal, and will design teaching or internship experiences for students. One of the most successful has been the Whitefield School, which is looking for teachers at all grade levels. Over the past several years, almost two dozen CSB/SJU students have volunteered there, mostly over the summer. The school prefers graduating seniors who will stay for at least three months.
Orientation: Gar Kellom can provide some orientation sessions and will assist with logistics for application, assignment, travel, visas, and an orientation in India before the internships begin.
Financial: These two placements offer free room and board with a three month minimum stay; they also provide local travel support.
Health Insurance: Students should purchase travel insurance.
