Major and Minor Requirements

The CSB/SJU Asian Studies program currently offers a major in Asian Studies and three different Asian Studies minors.

Standardized Major in Asian Studies

Individualized Major in Asian Studies

This major is offered under the auspices of the Department of History and the Director of the Asian Studies Program. Only students who started at CSB/SJU in Fall of 2009 or earlier may declare this major. Students who matriculated in Fall 2010, please see the requirements for the Standardized Asian Studies major.

Minor in General Asian Studies

This minor is comprised of liberal arts courses, including history, art and art history, philosophy and literature. Click here for a minor declaration form in .pdf format.

Minor in Chinese Language

This minor is offered in conjunction with the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, and requires courses in Chinese language and culture.

Minor in Japanese Language

This minor is offered in conjunction with the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, and requires courses in Japanese language and culture.
