Planning your program

As an art major at CSB and SJU, you will choose a concentration in studio art or art education (or an art history minor).

Studio art majors acquire a thorough grounding in the skills and aesthetic judgment necessary for painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, computer art, sculpture, ceramics and jewelry-making.

Art history minors focus on the meaning and evolution of various theories of art, as well as the role of art in contemporary and past cultures.

Art majors who plan to teach art in primary or secondary schools must complete a minor in education, in addition to fulfilling requirements in studio art and art history.
