GIS has become one of the most useful visual tools for applying and organizing data into maps. The Arboretum has recently adapted GIS as a device for land management to understand and visualize the distribution of geographic features while providing a detailed description of any particular stand or land feature. These examples of applications are just a few visual aids to express the usefulness of GIS and its dynamic nature as an educational tool.
