CSB/SJU Dorm Floor Ambassador Volunteer Job Description

Event Date(s): September to May (regular school year)
Starting Time: You will be contacted a few days in advance of events
Training: Short information session will be given when you volunteer for the first time

Description:
As a residence hall ambassador for the Saint John’s Arboretum, the volunteer will be informed of when Arboretum events will be going on.  The residence hall ambassador will receive posters from their RA’s who will get them from the Residential Life Office.  The posters will already have the Student Activities stamp of approval on them.  The RA and Arb Ambassador will hang posters up for the event in their residence hall and will recruit people in their hall for the events. If there is not an event going on the volunteer will act as a knowledgeable person for the residents of the hall on the practices and benefits the Arboretum provides.  The volunteer with have maps and other informational sheets for the residence of the halls to use.

Qualifications:

• Good communication skills
• Enthusiasm about the outdoors

Background Information:
The residence hall ambassador for the Saint John’s Arboretum is a new program that will help students of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University to see what the Arboretum has to offer.  The students will have the ability to learn outdoor skills through the arboretum.  With the help of the residence hall ambassador more students will be willing to attend Arboretum events.
