Teacher Training

Saint John's Arboretum offers a variety of educational opportunities for teachers throughout the year. We feel that part of our job as environmental educators is not only to educate the students that visit the Arboretum, but their teachers as well! Together we can help bring quality environmental education to every student.

 

  

Teacher Education Opportunities 2010-11 School Year

  • MN Natural History Lecture Series
    *every 3rd Monday from Sept to Nov and Feb to May from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
    An informational lecture on different aspects of Minnesota's Natural History each month. No cost for teachers who bring their students on Arboretum field trips. Check this link for the schedule and look for the 'Teacher-friendly' designations, which indicate that resources for teachers will be available at the session.
  • Project WILD/WET/Learning Tree Workshop for 6-12th grade teachers
    *Monday through Wednesday, July 18-20, 2011, 9 am - 4 pm each day on SJU campus
    *Cost is $115 and includes 18 CEUs, lunch all 3 days, activity guides and modules, supplementary teaching resources, on-site field trips each day
