Patrick Pesek-Herriges ’61 is one of the artists in “Take 2” a piano/vocal duo also featuring Barbara Lyon. Their new CD includes 11 of Pesek-Herriges original songs from a couple of decades of song-writing. Pesek-Herriges describes his songs as “occasional" songs, written for and about friends, events, and circumstances.
Pesek-Herriges headed up a jazz band that played at regional high schools and colleges, as well as at SJU and CSB. He was also in the Cyril Paul group that won the Minnesota Centennial college talent contest. In recent years, Pesek-Herriges has played piano at The Creamery Restaurant & Inn, south of Menomonie, Wis. and has performed in various stage bands, including a staging of "All Night Strut" and backing for Garrison Keillor at a benefit for the Menomonie area Free Clinic.
Pesek-Herriges has other several projects in the works including: a "musical", set on another planet -- written but unrecorded; a "Seniors in the Spotlight" project, organizing a show featuring elders identified by area Agencies on Aging; private and public performances.
