Financial Aid, Tuition and Scholarships

We hear concerns about affordability quite often. Even though families recognize the value of the high quality educational experience we offer, many students tell us they didn't consider CSB/SJU because of the price. If this is what you and your family are thinking we urge you to THINK AGAIN.

Lifetime Investment

In our most recent survey, 99 percent of 2012 graudates reported they were situated within a year of earning their degree, either professinally employed, pursuing a graduate degree or in a full-time volunteer position. Both in the stories they tell and in the numbers, our graduates' CSB/SJU experience prepared them not only for their first job, it prepared them for life. You can bank on that. Search our graduate database for yourself.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Merit-based Aid

  • Merit-based aid is awarded to students based on a combination of their test scores, GPA, curriculum, extracurricular involvement and volunteer work. Students will be notified of their "Academic, Leadership and Service Excellence Scholarships" within approximately two weeks of receiving their admission decision.
  • Other scholarships including the Legacy Scholarship, Fine Arts Scholarship, Intercultural LEAD Fellowship, and our FoCuS and MapCores Scholarships are available, as well.

Need-based Aid

  • Need-based financial aid in the form of grants, loans, and student employment is also available to students who qualify based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSB/SJU Financial Aid Application.
  • Learn how to apply for need-based financial aid.
  • Please note you will not receive your need-based financial aid package until spring (after you've submitted the FAFSA and the CSB/SJU Financial Aid Application). However, if you're interested in seeing a preliminary estimate of your financial aid eligibility, please fill out the Net Price Calculator.

Tools and Information

Web button

CSB/SJU provide a Net Price Calculator to help you estimate your college expenses and possible eligibility for financial aid from CSB/SJU.

This calculator is intended for first year applicants and will show you a sample of the kind of award that you might receive if you were admitted to CSB/SJU and applied for financial aid. Remember that the results are not final or a guarantee of financial aid but can help you make an informed college choice.
