Name: Fousseyni Diakite
Hometown: Bamako, Mali
Although CSB/SJU was first recommended to him by his cousin, many factors made Fousseyni Diakite decide this was the place for him. If he had to pick the top three they would be the beauty of the campuses, the small class sizes, and the friendly Minnesotan hospitality. The professors really get to know you personally here, he said, and therefore can help you improve.
Diakite will graduate in 2008 with a major in Management and a minor in Spanish. He participates in the French Club and hopes to participate in our study abroad program to Japan in the future.
"I have always wanted to visit Asia," he said. "And since I have made so many Japanese friends here I have decided that Japan will be the first Asian country I visit!"
Diakite appreciates the commitment to diversity and cultural issues at CSB/SJU and feels confident that his education will help him achieve his goals.
“I feel like the experiences I will gain here are going to be very helpful and necessary for me to achieve my goal of owning a business. Here at CSB/SJU, I learn so much and from so many people. The classes are tough, but it’s just to prepare student to face the competitive world out there. Here I meet people from around the world and the fact that we live together in a small community helps us to get to know each other very well. We learn how to understand and respect others. That really prepares students for a very diverse world.”
