 Why did you choose CSB/SJU?
CSB/SJU was my school of choice partly because of the warm, welcoming atmosphere I experienced when I visited the campus during my senior year in high school. In addition, I was attracted to the liberal arts education which I thought was a perfect fit for me. The scholarship package and support services of the university were also very generous which all ultimately played into my decision.

What were you involved with on campus?
Entrepreneur Scholar Program.  At CSB/SJU the entrepreneurship bug bit me and as an Entrepreneur Scholar I was able to work with my colleagues on starting businesses and traveling across the globe. It is through the Entrepreneur Scholar program that I first traveled to China and it is there that my fascination with business and culture in Asia began. The entrepreneurship bug still has a hold on me. I have recently started my own business and I can say that the seeds of this idea started while I was at CSB/SJU.

I was a member of the Saint John's Senate all four years I was at CSB/SJU. I held various positions including Judicial Board Chair and Activities & Allocations Board Chair. Through the Saint John's Senate, I was able build upon my leadership skills and learn to work professionally with a wide range of people.

As a member of the International Affairs Society, I represented CSB/SJU at international conferences including the Harvard Model UN and the Hong Kong National Model United Nations.  I was also President of the Investment Club.

How did CSB/SJU help to prepare you for law school and beyond?
CSB/SJU provided me with a strong and broad academic foundation. Through the intensive political science course load I honed my analytical and writing skills, which are huge assets in law school. I learned to read and synthesise large amounts of information quickly; and through the liberal arts curriculum I got a strong base in varying fields such as economics, International business, psychology, and the sciences which all contribute to the holistic way in which you must view the law, policies, and understand your clients.

How do you feel CSB/SJU achieves global awareness?
My personal experience is a testament to the importance placed on global awareness at CSB/SJU. As a student at CSB/SJU I traveled around the US and abroad on numerous occasions to represent the university (including China and Hong Kong). Through student clubs and academic programs, the university ensures that each student has the opportunity to learn more about the world around them - whether it is through travel, the emphasis placed on internationalism in the courses offered, or study abroad opportunities among other things.
