More about Tony: Tony is a 10-year veteran in the CSB/SJU Office of Admission (13 years if you count his time as a student tour guide). As an undergraduate student, Tony was active in broadcasting, holding the positions of Music Director and Sports Director at the campus radio station, KJNB. That interest led him to complete internships at KFAN Radio and KMSP-TV in the Twin Cities. Tony and his wife Sherry, a 1996 CSB graduate, reside in St. Louis Park with their two sons.

Hear Tony on the Radio: Tony’s experience with sports broadcasting didn’t end when he joined the admission team. For the past six seasons, Tony has partnered with Director of Admission Matt Beirne to provide radio and internet play-by-play coverage for the 10-time MIAC Champion CSB Blazer basketball team. Tony also has a bird’s eye view of every home SJU football game as a part-time public address announcer.

Tony says...

“Even though I have a passion for music and sports, my favorite activity in college was hosting a weekly talk show with then Chaplain of Saint John’s, Father Timothy Backous. He taught one of the most popular classes on campus, so we essentially made it available to the entire community by taking it to the airwaves. Students would call in and discuss their relationships with God and each other and comment on current events. It was a great example of how CSB/SJU act as one large classroom where learning cannot tell time.”
