Fun facts: One of the great pleasures of international admissions is meeting and making friends from all over the world.  No matter what country I visit, I find pearls of wisdom, friendship and common humanity. The uniqueness of each language and culture has enriched my life immeasurably, and I look forward to visiting more countries as my educational journey continues. My varied intercultural experiences have given me the confidence and knowledge to work with students and families from all cultures and backgrounds. My chief goal each year is to match good students from other countries with colleges that best meet their education and personal needs as best I can. In recent years I have worked with students and families from the following countries in which I have traveled: Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Canada, Mexico, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Guatemala, England, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Italy. I hope to add a few more countries to that list in the next several years as we try to expand the number of international students in our community.

I remember that I was required to read John Howard Griffen's book Black Like Me in the summer of 1965 and to be ready to discuss it at freshmen orientation. Mr. Griffen came to SJU for an all college conference and spoke to the freshmen class about his book and experiences. In the middle of the Civil Rights Movement, we also invited Fr. James Groppi, from Milwaukee, a civil rights activist at the time, to speak on campus about what was happening in Milwaukee. I remember learning so much my first year in college and it left an indelible mark on my life.

Recently, in "USA Today," there was a list of the top 10 international airports in the world and I realized I had been through them all!
