Paige Kamke
Major: Accounting
Candice (Paige) Kamke always knew she’d pursue a future in business. She believes majoring in accounting will prepare her for a future where she can stand out and will provide her a variety of options. “Accounting allows me to see the inside view of the operations of any type of company, says Paige. She is completing the CPA track as she values developing “deep, trusting relationships with people, and a CPA must encompass such a quality.”
Based on the experience she intends to gain in the business world after graduation, Paige plans to someday open her own restaurant, a dream she has had since she was young.
Accounting is one thing - exercise another. Don’t get between Paige and her running, or she’ll get ‘cranky.’ She successfully completed one 26.2 mile marathon and has plans to complete another some day soon. Paige says that running keeps her sane when the world around her seems anything but sane!
Paige interned during Summer 2007 at Ameriprise, working in the Investment accounting area, where she learned how to calculate net asset values of mutual funds and determine distributions, among a host of other tasks. She finds that Ameriprise truly values all of its people and is an amazing company.
