Student Profile - Lance Radziej

Lance Radziej
Major: Accounting

Accounting – it’s not Greek to Lance

Lance likes being an accounting majors for two reasons: (1) the walk to Simons Hall is a short one from Greg House and (2) he enjoys the people – “both the professors and students involved create a fun learning atmosphere.”  Lance is following the traditional track, but is also accumulating 150 credit hours for purposes of CPA licensure. In addition, Lance is minoring in Classical Greek studies for the fun of it and because he likes a challenge.

Internship and Volunteer Opportunities

Lance spent Summer 2007 as a tax intern at Deloitte – a valuable experience. During Summer 2006 he participated in Deloitte’s Sophomore Leadership Program, a great way to get to know more about the firm and an experience that helped him land his internship. Last tax season, Lance volunteered for Accountability Minnesota, completing tax returns for underprivileged people in central Minnesota.

Why SJU?

“I love the sense of community and CSB/SJU’s commitment to excellence,” says Lance. He also loves the opportunity to become involved in varied activities, including the Fencing Club, Percussion Ensemble, and the Accounting and Finance Club. Liberal arts opportunities are the icing on the cake – one of Lance’s favorite classes to date has been a theology class.
