The Clemens Lecture Series was founded to further conversation on the ways that economics can speak to the larger problems of our society and culture. It brings to Saint John's outstanding economists noted for their abilities to address the economic dimensions of social issues and to sustain dialogue with the other fields of the liberal arts. The Koch Chair in Catholic Thought and Culture supports a professor distinguished by his or her knowledge of and commitment to the importance of the Catholic college's role in bringing faith into dialogue with culture. Serving the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, The Renaissance Series was established by President MaryAnn Baenninger in 2006 to bring speakers to CSB who “demonstrate the diversity of opportunities available for women and men and. . . to encourage them to broaden their horizons in every respect, particularly in areas that are less traditional for the respective genders.” Learn more.
The goal of the Science and Religion program is to raise the level of awareness of issues in science and religion at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University and among the community at large in central Minnesota. Each year, we focus on a particular topic at the intersection of science and religion, examining that topic from the perspective of a theologian and of a scientist. Upcoming programs and events.
