Anne O. Krueger, Arts and Sciences Professor of Economics at Duke University, Durham, N.C., is recognized for her significant contribution as an author and consultant on the application of economic theory to the analysis of commerce in developing countries.

She holds a master's and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has previously taught at Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota and served as vice president of economics and research for The World Bank from 1982-86. From 1970-72, she was president of the Minnesota Economics Association. She is currently a research associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research, as well as a trustee for Oberlin College (Ohio) and a nonresident senior fellow at Brookings Institute, Washington, D.C. Her professional memberships include the American Economic Association, Econometric Society, Royal Economic Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Krueger has been a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, the University of Paris, Australia National University and the Institute for International Economics Studies in Stockholm.

A native of Endicott, N.Y., Krueger is the author or co-author of over 15 books and monographs, including the soon-to-be-released books "Aid and Development" (with Vernon Ruttan and Constantine Michalopoulos) and "Develoment By Trade: Extending the Benefits of International Institutions" (with Bob Baldwin, David Finch, Gale Johnson and Constantine Michalopoulos). She has also written over 50 articles for such publications as the "Quarterly Journal of Economics," "American Economic Review" and "Internal Economic Review." In addition, she is associate editor of "Economics and Politics" and on the Board of Editors for the journal, "Economics and Finance."
